75. Hong Kong

October 2018:

$320m dollars’ worth of A350-900 and they stick it out in the middle of the yard – still, my first flight in an A350 – and so my second farewell tour of Australia begins
Dragged to the gate…
Arriving into Hong Kong 40-minutes early…
Toi Fung Mangkhut struck Hong Kong on September 20th and caused quite a lot of damage – today it is just rain but lashings of it
Haysi without Fantayzee…

The ICC Tower:

The ICC Tower observation deck is on Floor 100, some 393 metres above sea level. Unhelpfully the southern viewing area is closed today for a private event – so no jazzy views over central Hong Kong

The Peak:

A view from The Peak – the trams that travel this route were made in Switzerland, naturally…

Walkabout:

The Court of Appeal built in 1910
St John’s Anglican Cathedral
St John’s Anglican Cathedral
The old French Mission
The Peninsula Hotel used to be the grandest place to stay in Hong Kong and had a fleet of Rolls Royce cars to drive guests around
The Kowloon – Canton Railway clock tower built in 1915
Once was tall…
CX157 to Brisbane – delayed by 35-minutes “due to operational reasons” – which is airline-speak for “we neither know nor care”…
Sunset over Sorong, West Papua, Indonesia
